THE FORTUNETELLING WIZARD AND OTHER STORIES FROM THE KINGDOM OF DAR : Includes in chronological order: The First Fortune, The Mishap at the Wizard Assembly, The Disaster at the Tene Market, and The Fortunetelling Wizard.
THE FRACTURED MOUNTAIN – A Fortunetelling Wizard novella coming soon!
Never in his years as a wizard has Hol been unable to get a being to speak with him or with his tunic. So, when he answers a call to prevent a fractious mountain from splitting itself and its surroundings in two and it refuses to tell him why, Hol is flummoxed.
Neither sweet talking nor conciliatory magic work. Not even the neighborly wichtlein—a mountain expert—knows what to do.
As earthquakes and avalanches threaten them all, Hol’s tunic offers an unwelcome solution: bind the mountain with or without its permission.
With the enraged mountain imperiling the entire region, Hol must choose whether to use the domineering wizardry magic he’s been warned away from his entire life or allow the mountain to destroy all it can reach.
THE MESSHLUN MISSION – A Fortunetelling Wizard novella coming soon!
It is common knowledge that the ways of dragons are their own. Everyone knows this. But even so, when the citadel of Messhlun, the kingdom north of Dar, is overtaken by dragons it isn’t clear why or what exactly it is that they want.
What’s even less clear is why the dragons won’t negotiate with the local wizards.
What’s even less clear than that is why they’ve asked for Hol the Fortunetelling Wizard by name.
But, since it is equally common knowledge that the ways of wizards are also their own, it comes as no surprise to anyone that Hol and his tunic are curious and foolish enough to go find out.
THE MINOTAUR OF THE BENEL LABYRINTH – An upcoming Fortunetelling Wizard novella!
It is common knowledge that young bull minotaurs cannot resist unclaimed labyrinths, but it is certainly less of a common practice for a young bull minotaur to demand a city’s heir as a sacrifice when he comes to claim his labyrinth rights.
The deadline is dawn. The heir must be sacrificed or the minotaur will raze the city to the ground.
As the time runs out, the city despairs.
And yet, before the worst can happen, the wizard Hol arrives to stand in the heir’s place.
But what can a fortunetelling wizard do against a rampaging minotaur?
With the labyrinth working against him and the nearby forest conspiring his demise, can Hol dissuade the minotaur from his destructive path or will Hol, his tunic, and the heir become the minotaur’s latest casualties?
